My son has done really well in his first year in highschool (his average was 96) and for christmas he asked for an 8gb ipod nano, but i thought id suprise him with a touch.
Right now he’s currently on 3 year contract with his LG Neon (Rogers). What is the cheapest way to get him a 16gb iphone 3gs?

Well check ebay for no contract(might not need contract) or Apple.com if his contract is up
Otherwise it will cost to start a new contract with a new phone

Would you like shop online? The cheapest way is to shop on some website, but before your buying ,you have to make clear the contract and plan of iphone.
You can go to

Sadly they’re really isn’t a cheap way to buy iPhones thanks to the lovely laws supply and demand, but the cheapest option in your scenario would be to:
Cancel your son’s pre-existing contract.(fee will be 175 at most)
Sign up for a new contract and buy the reduced price iphone 3gs. (199)
Bringing your total to about $375
If you wanted to buy the phone without a contract it can cost anywhere from $500-800 on other websites such as eBay.com.
I was just in the same situation, and though it was an expensive 375 purchase, the iPhone is well worth it!!

go to an at&t store or a apple store they won’t charge you anything to switch plans and if you go at a good time it won’t take you more than 20-30 min. thats how i got mine. and you need a case.
